Hi I'm Greg Rusedski and I'm going to teach you how to serve.
But before you even hit a ball, you need to get two things right.
Watch my masterclass:
First the grip. I hold the racquet as if I was chopping wood with an axe. Then the most important thing in the whole serve is to get your ball toss right. You should be looking to toss up the ball so it lands back in your hand every time. With the serving action everything starts to move together when I toss the ball up. The action is almost like I'm trying to throw the racquet out of my hands. Luckily I'm six foot four so I don't have to bend my legs too much. But you should try and get as high as you can when you serve. Last of all don't go for too much power! Concentrate on getting the ball in and then build up the speed. It took me many years to get up to 149mph! The best way to get all these things working together is to hit loads of balls.
