Kick up your serve with Becker
Around the Academy:

Kick serve like the master with Boris Becker's masterclass

After Boris Becker won his first Wimbledon title in 1985 he soon became known as Boom Boom Becker.

Why? Because of his potent serve and unreturnable serves.

Now he's teamed up with the BBC Sport tennis team to show you what it takes to out-serve your opponent.

Watch Boris' masterclass

Boris' top tips for getting that serve to kick:

  • Vary your serves by style and not just position

  • The kick serve gives you time to come to the net to nail the return

  • All good servers have the same ball toss - Sampras drove me crazy that way!

Now go get those serves kicking!
