Serena lifts the singles title at Wimbledon in 2003
Coming straight out of tough LA suburb Compton, Serena Williams is the undisputed star of the women's game.

Born with a naturally powerful body, she serves at a devastating 120mph.

Yet she combines this power with the control, poise and balance of a gymnast.

Watch Serena's blueprint

She won all four Grand Slam tennis tournaments within a calendar year - the 'Serena Slam'.

She's achieved success off the court as well appearing in fashion shoots, TV shows and music videos.

And she's only 22-years old.

A knee injury kept Serena out of the game for eight months, but now she's back and looking as dominant as ever.
