A tale of two coaches
Around the Academy:

Andy Roddick

My first coach Tarik Benhabiles and I will always be friends.

He's been a huge influence on my life, not only on the tennis court but off it too.

At the time, I guess moving onto Brad Gilbert says it was just time to hear a fresh voice.

But Tarik has done wonders for me. I think I would still be in college if it wasn't for him.

I owe a lot of my success to him.

The decision to not re-hire Brad Gilbert for the 2005 season is based on what I think is best for my game.

It was exciting working with him. We're both pretty passionate about the prospect of something new.

He knows his stuff. He was a top five player and he's worked with Andre Agassi. He knows all about winning which is good stuff.

People say he talks a lot but most of it's funny, so I handled it!
