Mexican goalkeeper Jorge Campos in one of his most garish outfits
Strikers need shades to face Jorge Campos

Unlike Venus Williams, somehow you can tell Mexican goalkeeper Jorge Campos didn't study fashion.

But that still hasn't stopped him designing his own garish outfits.

In his multi-coloured goalkeeper jerseys, Campos is a real site for sore eyes between the sticks.

But maybe it's just a ploy to distract the opposing strikers.

In their diamond-patterned woollies, golfers are also known as fashion misfits.

One of the sport's most colourful characters was Payne Stewart, who died five years ago.

Famous for his plus four trousers, the patriotic American once teed off wearing a top with the stars and stripes emblazoned across it.

He also kitted himself out in colours inspired by NFL clubs.

As style icons go, the Lacoste crocodile - maybe; but the Miami Dolphins - never.

What are plus fours?
The knee length trousers worn by golfers are so called because of the four inches of overhanging fabric that gives them their baggy look.
