|Baltacha: My brilliant summer|
|Around the Academy:
I just can't believe what's happened to me in the summer of 2002.
Beating Amanda Coetzer at Wimbledon fantastic.
I had a brilliant week and learnt a lot.
I don't think I'm quick enough and I need to read the game more - there are lots of things I've got to learn.
After Wimbledon, it was back to reality with a tournament at Felixstowe.
But my experience at Wimbledon paid off and I won - my first victory at senior level!
It was a tough tournament and I feel mentally exhausted after all the ups and downs I've had recently.
But it's good that I'm heading in the right direction - and have at last broken into the top 200.
I had a superb 2001.
I played on Centre Court at Wimbledon, got to the semi-finals of junior Wimbledon, I won the National Doubles Championships with Julie Pullin and played in the Federation Cup as well as at the Albert Hall.
And I improved my ranking from 400 at the start of the year to 240 by the end of it.
