Stay safe in the sea
Around the Academy:

No swimming
Never swim when a red flag is flying. It means the waters is too dangerous.


Supervised swimming
Red and yellow flags mean the beach has a lifeguard on duty and supervised swimming.


Surfboards only
Black and white flags mean surfboards only - no swimmers allowed!


Dangerous tides
Beware of rip tides and currents - they can pull you out to sea in seconds.


Broken glass
Beware of litter and broken glass - don't let a bottle ruin your swim!


Avoid hazards
Do not swim near pipes, rocks, breakwaters and piers.


Stay near the shore
Do not swim too far out and keep in line with the shore.


Read signs
Do not ignore signs - they are there to help you and ensure safe swimming.
