Never swim when a red flag is flying. It means the waters is too dangerous.
Red and yellow flags mean the beach has a lifeguard on duty and supervised swimming.
Black and white flags mean surfboards only - no swimmers allowed!
Beware of rip tides and currents - they can pull you out to sea in seconds.
Beware of litter and broken glass - don't let a bottle ruin your swim!
Do not swim near pipes, rocks, breakwaters and piers.
Do not swim too far out and keep in line with the shore.
Do not ignore signs - they are there to help you and ensure safe swimming.
