Keeping focused isn't easy!
Around the Academy:

Hours in the pool can make you drowsy
Keeping your concentration over a race of some distance, such as those that Grant competes in, isn't easy.

But it's something you need to work on if you're going to achieve your best.

"I think a lot of swimmers, even at the elite level, can 'fall asleep' - get into a cycle where you are turning over but not really pushing yourself.

"I've done it before where I have fallen asleep for 300m in a 1500m race and then thought 'what are you doing?'

"It's a case of keeping yourself mentally aware. Every time you touch the wall is a wake up call to push yourself."
