Know your dojo from your ippon with Neil Adam's Judo guide
Hi, I'm Neil Adams MBE, former Olympic and World Championship medallist and now coach to the GB squad.

And this is my judo guide.

Watch my guide:

Judo derives from ju-jitsu and was first taught in Japan in 1882.

It means "gentle way" and I'm here to gently guide you in all things judo.

We'll cover all the basics like the mat area and dojo.

Then the various throws and holds a judo player might use.

And finally I'll give you an insight into the way the sport is scored.

So you'll soon get to know your Ippon from your Waza-ari!
