Mainly shirts are manufactured using polyester, but other materials are regularly used.

Technology has seen the introduction of various new lightweight water-resistant, synthetic fibres in modern jerseys.

If you play for a team they will provide you with shirts for games, but you will need to wear your own for training.

It is important to make sure the shirt fits correctly - too small and it will rip, too big and it will affect your performance.

They are also becoming a fashion item, increasingly worn out with jeans.

Of course you can always buy your favourite County's shirt just to show where your particular loyalties lie.
