Meet MTB star Liam Killeen
Around the Academy:

Liam Killeen is Britain's best cross-country mountain biker

Liam Killeen is Britain's best cross-country mountain biker.

That means he's fast, extremely fit and almost immune to pain!

In 2002 the laid-back rider from Malvern rode out of his skin to win a bronze at the Commonwealth Games.

The following year he became the first British rider to win the Under-23 prize in the men's World Cup series.

He was one of GB's best hopes for a cycling medal at the Athens Olympics.

But a crash near the start of the race slowed him down and spoiled his dreams of glory.

Liam eventually fought his way through the field to finish a highly creditable fifth.

The Academy caught up with Liam as he took a break from racing.

Did you know?
If Liam had not become a professional mountain biker he would have liked to be a musician, like his dad, who is a guitarist.
