Puncture repair - step 2

If you are on the road and have a spare tube then it is probably best to install it there and then.

Then you can fix the punctured tube at home where it's dry and warm!

To do this you must take off the wheel using the quick-release lever in the axle.

If you need to take off the rear wheel shift the gears to top gear so that the chain is running on the smallest sprocket.

In the case of mountain bikes sometimes you will have to unscrew the quick-release nut partway.
