The Academy's punching guide
Around the Academy:

You need to put your whole bodyweight behind an arm's-length punch for it to be really effective.

Twist your body into the punch and extend your arm as hard and fast as possible.

Imagine you are punching through the target (your opponent).

Click on the following links for a guide to the basic punches:

LEFT JAB
The most basic but important punch in boxing

STRAIGHT LEFT & RIGHT
Pack in the power but beware of being caught out

RIGHT HOOK
Your opponent won't see this one coming til they feel it
