Want to be the swerve master?
Around the Academy:

Fast feet and good timing are essential for the perfect swerve

Catch me if you can!

Fast footwork and perfect timing are the key skills to pull off the perfect swerve and make the defender look really stupid.

The swerve is very simple to learn and done in the right situations, it can open massive gaps in the opposition's defence.

This is a skill all wingers should learn.

However, that does not mean only the wide players can do the swerve.

The rest of the back line and even loose forwards will find themselves one-on-one with a defender.

The swerve is not as extreme as the sidestep, but it is just as effective.

Click around the links above to learn how to leave defenders in the dust - just like Rhys Williams does.
