Get into Tag Rugby in Northern Ireland
Tag Rugby is sure to be popular in Northern Ireland

If you ever thought that you'd like to get into rugby then there's never been a better time to start.

Tag Rugby, the version of the game aimed at developing young talent, is about to hit Ireland in a really big way.

Over 50,000 children in over 300 schools across Ireland are going to be involved in a three year plan sponsored by Coca-Cola.

Not only will you get the chance to play Tag Rugby, but your schools will also be provided with coaching equipment, balls and kit bags

There is no body contact in Tag Rugby, instead tackles are made by tearing a velcro strip from around your opponent's waist.

The format of the game means that even boys and girls who have not tried rugby before can give it a go safely with the emphasis on skill and teamwork.

Schools will compete against each other with computer packages up for grabs and there are also prizes available to individual players.
