Quiet please. The master's at work
The golden boy of English rugby after World Cup victory in Australia, Jonny Wilkinson is already England's highest points scorer aged just 24.
In the recent Born To Win television series Jonny explained how he has become a visionary kicker.
When I'm kicking, my stance has come from a physical and mental development where I've tried to learn relaxation techniques. I've learnt how to centre energy, relax and focus all the power I've got in my body into my legs so it's all there for the kick. Watch Jonny's blueprint I can look at the ball in line with the posts so I'm dead in line. This is where it's easiest to trace a line from the point of the ball where I'm going to hit it.
Right from the stitching along an imaginary wire that travels in a dead straight line along the trajectory I'm after to the top of the posts. The ball is attached to the wire so all I'm doing is sending it up the wire. My earliest memories of enjoying my rugby were probably when I was three or four years old. It was at the age of nine or 10 that I realised there was a national team and everyone aspired to play at that level. These guys were the best and that's when I knew that's what I wanted to do.
