How I started

Now which way shall I throw this ball - hmmm?

Olivia Murphy

Like most girls I started playing netball at school when I was seven years old.

Lots of primary schools play netball because it teaches different skills.

You learn about team-work, how to attack and defend as well as keeping yourself fit and healthy!

I quickly got hooked on the game and wanted to play outside of school hours too.

So I went along to my local club and decided to join up.

My skills began to improve with all the extra coaching and competitve action.

I was really excited to be chosen to play for my county, Derbyshire.

Eventually, I went on to play for my region and then finally I made it onto the England team!
