One for the calender: Tom at the Belfry
I'm training to become a PGA golf professional at the Belfry golf club in Warwickshire. That's where Europe beat America in the 2003 Ryder Cup. After University I got a job at the Belfry and it's while I've been here that I started to train as a professional. I was about 13 when I started playing golf and by the time I was 15 my handicap was three. If I'm honest I probably wasn't good enough to be a Tour professional.
But I had some good advice from people within golf telling me that I should get an education first. So I studied at London University for a degree which included golf. I had the opportunity to go to America to study but for some reason I didn't fancy it. And looking back I don't know why! But now I'm into my last year on the three year diploma. It's been hard work studying and working at the same time but I'm looking forward to being a pro. When I finish I'll be paid well to do something I love. My office will be 18 holes.
