|Life as a basketball club secretary|
|Around the Academy:
If you think club secretaries are stuck to their desk and are shy retiring types then think again.
Astrid Schnabel pulls the strings for the London Towers and explains her love affair with the game and the club.
What do you do?
I sort the team's travel for European games, accommodation for visiting teams and make sure they are happy.
The day is usually between 9.30-5.30, but if there's a game on in the evening or at weekends my hours are all over the place.
Before the season starts there's lots of paperwork and finances to sort, and in June you get weekends off so I visit my hometown Frankfurt in Germany.
Highs and lows?
You meet lots of good people, you get invites for product launches, film screenings. And best of all - you get lots of freebies.
The downside to the job is all the paperwork and the long hours, but my favourite moments are the European games.
I remember when we played a Lithuanian team called Zalgiris Kaunas and the place was so busy I had people running over me to get in.
We lost the match but it was just amazing.
