Intermediate tasks for co-ordination
Around the Academy:

1. Squash
You need a friend for this one. Choose a line on the wall. Make it about waist height, add an upper line if you like.

Draw a line on the ground about one-two strides away from the wall (the service line).

To score, the ball must land in the target area on the wall (above lower line) rebound and be caught by your partner behind the service line.

Change the rules to make it competitive or co-operative (e.g. longest rally), or to make the game harder (such as smaller target area; smaller ball; service line further from the wall).

2. Hit those targets
Throw the object at targets - like a hoop or some paper on a wall.

The targets should be high, medium and low.

How many times can you hit the targets if you throw the ball 10 times at each?

Are you better at any one of the targets? How many times can you hit the targets with in one minute?

Did you get better or worse when you had a time pressure?

Time pressures can cause the technique to break down, so don't use this game until you're comfortable throwing and catching a ball.
