How to increase your speed
Around the Academy:

So fancy becoming as fast as someone like Britain's top sprinter Dwain Chambers?

Dwain was quite a late starter to athletics but since his teenage years he's been flying out of the blocks.

So how do you go about being this quick?

There are techniques that can help to maximise on the speed that you have already.

And we've got a few exercises for you that are suitable for all levels to set you on your way.

All should have the same starting point of seeing how many you can do in 30 seconds.

The better you get the more you should be able to complete in that time.

And as you get fitter you should increase the time.

However speed is the most important factor.
