The Athens heat has been ferocious
It's hot and sweaty work playing most sports.
But spare a thought for those competing out in Athens. The heat can reduce your performance massively, and it took a terrible toll in the marathon as Paula Radcliffe succumbed to the soaring temperatures. The Academy found out what it's like competing in these conditions - and got a big shock!
