Angellica Bell attends bodypump classes to keep fit
What is Body pump?
It is a mixture of aerobic exercise and weights. It has become extremely popular all over the world with Body pump classes in around 40 different countries.

Who is it aimed at?
Body pump is aimed at anyone over 16. There are versions of it for younger people which involve less work with weights. The YMCA have special classes.

Do any celebrities do it?
CBBC's Angellica Bell is a big fan of Body pump. It has also proved very popular with Hollywood stars.

Will it change the way I look?
Body pump instructors claim it will change the shape of your body.

It gives you a better posture, reduces your body fat and increases muscle tone and definition without the bulk.

What kind of weights does it use?
Most of the exercises are based around weights ranging from 1kg to 5kgs and a Step routine.

If you aren't comfortable using the weights, you can do the work out without any kind of resistance.

Which muscles does it use?
All the major muscle groups are worked out, from the warm up through legs, chest, back, triceps, shoulders and abdominals, before the stretch and cool down.

Each exercise lasts the length of one track of music, with pauses between tracks used to alter weight levels.

The big hit 'Everybody' by the Backstreet Boys is a body pump favourite.
