Tee off with Ryder Cup star Padraig
Around the Academy:

Since taking up golf at the age of four, Padraig Harrington has risen to become one of the biggest stars on the European tour.

And now he's teamed up with the BBC Sport golf team to show you how to play the ultimate drive.

Watch Padraig's masterclass

Padraig was on the tee with BBC rugby presenter Jeremy Guscott, who also fancies himself as a bit of golfer!

Padraig's top tips for driving:

  • As a general rule in mild conditions, it's best to tee the ball up half way above the driver.

  • If you're driving down wind on a breezy day, tee the ball up higher. This means you can get underneath the ball and it will carry in the wind.

  • Always tee the ball up on par three holes. Some pros don't bother, but amateurs should always use the tee.
