Seve shows you the perfect fade
Around the Academy:

Seve Ballasteros has more than a few tricks up his sleeve on the golf course.

When he has a tree or a bunker in his way, Seve uses the fade shot to bring the ball from left to right, away from danger.

And now he's teamed up with the BBC Sport golf team to show you how to play the perfect fade shot.

Watch Seve's masterclass

Seve's handy hints for playing the fade shot:

  • Move your stance to the left, depending on how far you want to bring the ball to the right

  • Open the club face when you hit the ball - this will give you height and direction

  • If you need extra distance, use one or two clubs extra than normal
