The hands are placed on the club side by side with no link.

This is a good way for beginners to start as it means your hands have freedom of movement.

When golf was invented in the 19th century, this was the way all golfers held the club.

Now it is quite rare among top players as other grips have developed which provide more control.

Ronan Rafferty is one of the few modern day pros using it.
