Can Wales build on their Autumn performances?
We asked you to review the year's sporting events.
And here with all the rugby union chat is Marc, 16, from Merthyr Tydfil. How did you get interested in rugby? Living in Wales, I suppose it's only natural to have a passion for the game! Do you play? I first played for my primary school team, Cae-Draw, in Merthyr. I'm concentrating on my GCSEs at the moment so I haven't played this season. Once the exams are over I want to start playing again. My best position is probably hooker. Which team do you support? I support the Neath Swansea Ospreys - and Wales of course! Unfortunately, the only I time I get to see them play is on television. The Ospreys are enjoying a rather good season so far and are currently topping the Celtic League. I'd love to see them go on and win it. Who is your favourite player and why? Wales flanker Colin Charvis because of the effort he always puts into the game. He ran in four tries for Wales against Japan during the Autumn internationals. What was your best rugby moment of 2004?
There's no doubt about my highlight of the year - Wales' performance against New Zealand in the Autumn internationals. They came so close to beating the All Blacks, eventually losing out by one point. Hopefully they can build on this now. What would be your one big wish for the year ahead? That's easy, it would be for Wales to win the Six Nations. It's about time they did! I reckon France and England will be the other contenders for the title and it'll be interesting to see if Jonny Wilkinson will be back in time to star for England. What are your predictions for the Lions tour to New Zealand next summer? I'm hoping the Lions will take the series but it's going to be close. If I was coach Clive Woodward the first names on my team sheet would be my favourite, Colin Charvis, England duo Jason Robinson and Jonny Wilkinson and Geordan Murphy of Ireland. Thanks for all your thoughts Marc. Diolch yn fawr!
