How to hit golf shots into the wind
Around the Academy:

Playing against the wind
Playing into the wind

Zane Scotland

If I'm lining up a shot that I would normally hit with a 6 iron, the way of eliminating a strong wind is to take two clubs more and swing softer.

So that means I would tackle the shot with a 4 iron instead.

Put the ball back in your stance

If there's only a light wind then just use a 5 iron.

Either way will keep the ball lower so the wind doesn't affect it as much and also it will go further too.

The other way to keep the ball lower is to grip the club a inch down the club and put the ball a couple of inches back in your stance.
