How to hit golf shots with the wind
Around the Academy:

Playing with the wind

Zane Scotland

It's the opposite when the wind is behind you.

Swing positively for more backspin
Swing positively for more backspin

If you'd normally use a 6 iron for a shot, try using a 7 or 8 iron and swing positively.

The wind will carry the ball but the more positive you are with your swing the more the ball will get backspin.

Backspin will make your ball stop more suddenly so it doesn't run past the green.
