Every player aims for the top of the leaderboard
The first thing to do when preparing mentally for sport is to tell the brain what you want from it before the event of match. Then only try to control what you can control, ie your own thoughts and not worry about the conditions or anything like that. Then concentrate on the positive aspects of your game and programme your brain to remember the good things - the good shots, not the bad ones.
Too often individuals are hard on themselves and that feeds the brain the wrong type of messages. Your sport should be seen as an activity that is fun, worth doing and as an important part of life.
