The highlight of my career

St Andrews 1990: Faldo's happiest moment in golf

I have won a few Majors and they were all special.

But the one I wouldn't ever give back was winning The Open at St Andrews in 1990.

Being able to walk up the last hole so far in front meant I could really look around and enjoy it.

(Faldo finished on 18 under par, five shots clear of the late American golfer Payne Stewart and Mark McNulty).

I'd like to think there are a few more wins in me.

But maybe they'll be things in a new walk of life!

Open Quote
Nothing phased him and he had an incredible work ethic.

He played every shot as if it was match point - that takes incredible mental strength
