Now make sure you rake the bunker!
Part Two
Slow Play Some golfers play faster than others. If you're holding people up, it's not only good manners to invite them to 'play through', Section 1 of the Rules of Golf says you have to! Letting them play through means standing to on side off the fairway while they drive. Then letting them play out of range before you carry on behind them.
If you're playing in a four ball (with another three people), let quicker groups 'play through'- such as a single player. Be courteous whether you are the person queuing or at the front.
Respect for the course Over the period of a year, golf courses take a real hammering, with divots gouged out of the fairways, trails of sand spilled from sand-traps and pitch marks created by balls landing on the green. Help the green-keepers keep the course in good condition. You can do this by raking bunkers, replacing divots and taking care not to damage the manicured greens.
Don't lose your rag! Everybody has bad days on the course. Don't lose your temper and blame everyone else, your clubs or the course for a poor shot. Golf is the great leveler and even a certain Mr Woods can have a nightmare!
Golf buggies Don't act like Michael Schumacher whether you are driving on a normal road or on a golf course. Drive at a safe speed, avoid over greens or on teeing areas and obey all signs.
