Lawrie lines up a pressure putt
One bad round could cost you your Tour card

''Qualifying for your Tour Card is one of the most difficult challenges I've ever faced.

"There are about 3,000 people who enter the Qualifying School and at the end of it there are only 40 get cards.

"I finished 12th in 1990, the year I went through the school and hopefully I'll never have to do it again!"

Although the Qualifying School is tough, Lawrie was quick to point out that everyone has to deal with some kind of pressure in all walks of life.

"The businessman working in an office has got no less pressure than golfers.

"But if you're a young lad wanting to break through into the golf scene and you don't play well in the one week of the Qualifying School, then you have to wait a whole year before you can do it all again!"
