Padraig: Deciding on golf

Mr and Mrs Harrington
Padraig celebrates success with his wife
When did you decide golf was the sport for you?

"I started taking golf a bit more seriously when I was 11.

"But I was still playing gaelic football, soccer, hurling, basketball, basically anything I could get my hands on.

"But when I was 15, I started giving up the other sports and got my handicap down to scratch.

"I played a good tournament in the Leinster Boys and managed to get into the Irish Boys golf team.

"It was a far cry from getting sent on a weeks trip to Scotland and letting in three goals for my soccer team, so it was an easy choice, golf was the game for me."
