Work on your stop turns
Around the Academy:

Stop turn

Imagine you're a car. You need to have a great accelerator and superb brakes.

It's all about running at full pace and trying to keep the ball in play before it runs over the touchline or the dead ball line.

And then you make that magical turn.

Just place one foot on top of the ball to halt its path.

Then stop your run as quickly as possible and turn your body to move away with the ball.

If you have an opponent close behind you though this is simply going to concede possession so it is best not to use in such a situation.
