Head the ball like Michael Owen
Around the Academy:

Attacking heading

Michael Owen's not the tallest around, but he often uses his head to great effect for club and country.

Unless you work on your attacking heading then you will waste loads of chances by heading over the bar.

You need to try and head downwards and the only way to do that is to get over the ball.

Then you can direct the ball down towards the bottom corners of the goal which are the hardest areas for a goalkeeper to defend.

Click on the buttons and practice now.

TIP: Look at improving direction on your header, by either heading the ball across the goal or back in the direction from which it has come.
