The free-kick
Around the Academy:

The free-kick signal

The referee should point with a raised arm in the direction that the free-kick has been given.

With it being a direct kick though the referee will then make no further signal.

You'll often see players waiting to take a free-kick checking with the ref whether the kick is direct or indirect.

A crucial bit of info before shooting at goal!
