The ins and outs of a foul
Around the Academy:

The Academy's guide to all the fouls
Hold on to your head - Carlos is stepping up

So you think you know the fouls that make the referee blow the whistle.

Most of the decisions made by our friends in black are probably quite obvious.

But do you know when a free-kick should be direct or indirect?

Or if it's OK for goalkeepers to do handstands when a penalty's taken?

And if there's been a bad foul and the ref dips into his pocket, should the card be yellow, red or the ace of spades?

It is really useful to know some of these rules - whether you play or just enjoy watching football.

So go through the Academy's top foul guide and be the rules master.
