If David James could...
Around the Academy:

We put David James on the spot
England's number one answers our questions
The Academy caught up with Man City and England keeper David James and put him on the spot with our tricky "if you could" questions.

If you could...

Sport Academy: Not be asked one question for the rest of your career?

David James: I don't care - you can ask me whatever you like! There is one comment I'm a bit sick of, though: 'Don't drop it!'

Be a pop star for the day?

Snoop Dogg - but only because I bought his album the other day.

I listen to all types of music - classical, hip-hop, house...you name it. I like DJing and I'm trying to arrange a visit to The Proms.

Be another sports star for the day?

That's easy - hurdling legend Colin Jackson.

Einstein writes down a recipe
"Pass the salt, Dave"

Have dinner with anyone from the past or present?

Oooh, blimey...good question! I met Nelson Mandela once, and that was all I ever wanted to do in life. I'll go for Albert Einstein.

Bottle an emotion to use whenever you wanted?

Happiness - everyone needs a good sense of humour.

Go back in time and give advice to a 13-year-old David James?

Don't go for it...only joking!

I'm happy the way I am, really, so all I'd say is 'be yourself'.

Have any number on your mobile phone?

I've already got those - they belong to my kids.
