Wayne Rooney celebrates another England goal
Sharp-shooter Wayne celebrates another goal
The one thing that amazes me is how some players quickly establish themselves in the squad.

Chelsea's John Terry was the quickest.

The star defender made his England debut against Serbia and Montenegro back in June last year.

He's just been brilliant on and off the pitch.

When the Norwich goalkeeper Robert Green was called up for his debut, our goalkeeper coach Ray Clemence just told him to enjoy everything.

He came in and just soaked it all up. It was great to see.

And then there was Wayne Rooney!

When Wayne first joined us, Steven Gerrard latched on to him quickly and really helped him to adapt.

The dynamics of the relationships amongst all the players is incredible.
