Uriah Rennie is a well known Premiership referee
Uriah Rennie's strength in controlling the game has made him one of the most well recognised names in refereeing. He's also had his fair share of controversy, not least when he had to hold Roy Keane back before dismissing him at Sunderland at the start of the season. None of that has ever deterred the Sheffield whistler though and his qualities have also earned him a place on the Fifa referees list. That means he's regularly jetting off to take charge of international matches and European club games.
Despite coming in for criticism from players, managers, supporters and the media on almost a weekly basis, Rennie gets great enjoyment from refereeing. Here he talks to Sport Academy about why he likes being a man in the middle and share his tips for those of you who may want to follow.
