Gary Neville in action in the Champions League for Man Utd
Gary knows how vital it is to keep the ball

Man Utd star Gary Neville

If you want to make it as a footballer, you probably need to be practicing simple sidefoot passing every single day.

It's the most accurate pass and will make sure your side holds on to the ball.

You might think that practicing simple skills like this is boring - but it's an essential part of football to be able to pass and control the ball.

You need to use your whole body to pass the ball properly.

If you're right-footed, put your left foot out to one side of the ball and kick through the ball.

You should aim to make contact with the centre of the ball - this keeps it low for your team-mate to control easily.

Use your arms for balance, and keep your head still and your eyes on the ball.
