Figo and Portugal await the rest of Europe's finest
The long and winding qualifying road to Euro 2004 has continued with all four British sides in bruising action across the globe.
Scotland have had a rollercoaster ride, England have finally come good, Northern Ireland have struggled and Wales can be satisfied with their performance. But there's much more football to be played before the Portuguese guide books can be purchased. There'll be more bumps on the way, a few surprises, and the Academy will be there to bring you up to speed with the challenges facing the British sides.
The aim is to line up alongside the European footballing elite in Portugal in two years time. Fifty European nations, split into ten groups of five, will spend the next twelve months trying to secure one of the 15 spots alongside the hosts in the finals. Ten group winners qualify for the finals, with 10 group runners-up going into five, two-legged, play-off matches getting the last five places.
The tournament is between 12 June and 4 July 2004, with the 16 teams put into four groups. With the top two in each group then going through to the knockout stages. So click on the buttons above and let's hope there are plenty of British teams out there.
