Basic wicketkeeping
Around the Academy:

Introduction
As wicketkeeper you will always be involved in the game.

Even more so than the other fielders there is a really good chance that every ball can come through to you, so keep concentarting whether you're practicing or playing.

Practice taking the ball outside off and leg stump

Basic requirement:
A wicketkeeper, one set of stumps, a feeder and one ball.

Practice: The feeder bounces the ball through to the wicketkeeper who is crouched down behind the stumps.

The area in which the ball is pitched should be varied so the wicketkeeper gets used to taking the ball low or above stump height.

The direction should also be varied so that the wicketkeeper takes some balls outside off stump and others down the leg side.

Training drill adapted from an original concept designed and produced by Tacklesport.
