If James Anderson could...
Around the Academy:

James Anderson dives for a catch in practice
Just don't mention haircuts to young Jimmy
The Academy caught up with England's trendiest fast bowler James Anderson and put him on the spot with our tricky "if you could" questions.

If you could...

Sport Academy: Play cricket at any ground in the world where would it be and why?

James Anderson: Newlands, Cape Town in South Africa - because of the view. It's a beautiful ground and I've bowled well every time I've played there.

Not be asked one question for the rest of your career?

Ian Wright celebrates scoring a goal for Arsenal
Ian Wright was Jimmy's footy hero

"What's your next haircut going to be?" Everyone keeps asking and to be honest, I'm getting bored of it.

Be a popstar for the day?

Robbie Williams, because he could have pretty much any girl he wanted. He leads a good lifestyle - and I wouldn't mind a few of his millions either.

Be another sports star for the day?

Even though I'm an Arsenal fan, I'd like to be David Beckham.

My football hero when I was growing up was Ian Wright. If we had a kickabout down the park with my mates, I'd always be him.

Have dinner with anyone from the past or present?

(After Long pause) Mohammed Ali, because he is one of sport's all-time greats.

Keep something with you to remind you of home while on tour?

Electric blanket (?? Ed)

Win anything in the world?

Jenny and Natasha formerly of Atomic Kitten
Hello - is that James Anderson?

(Another long pause) The Cricket World Cup.

Go back in time and give advice to a 13-year-old James Anderson?

Revise for your exams because you never know when you're going to need your qualifications.

Cricket-wise, I wouldn't really tell myself anything, I'm pretty happy with the way everything has turned out so far.

Have any number on your mobile phone?

(Smiles) Any one of Girls Aloud or any member of what used to be Atomic Kitten.

Watch out for of our tricky "if you could" questions over the summer!

My Lancashire team-mate Sajid Mahmood is one to watch out for
He's clocked 93mph on the speedgun
Going on current form, I would say Steve Harmison is the best fast bowler in the world at the moment
