Andy Caddick uses his height to hit the deck
Some guys need a good, steady approach to the wicket and be hitting the crease at speed, like my England new ball partner Andy Caddick. Some guys, like myself, start off slow and attack the crease. I'm a more skiddier type of bowler because I'm quite short and stocky. People often ask me about my tips and what's the best way to get speed and bounce when they bowl. I normally tell them to bowl the way they feel most comfortable.
With my kids, who are seven and four, I just let them bowl how they want. If they want to know anything, they'll ask. My oldest one has come on so much this year. He picks things up from the TV - he's got a batting technique like Nasser Hussain and he bowls like me! He's started asking me lots of questions about cricket because he's interested in the game. Children don't really listen when you tell them they have to do something a certain way. But when they want to know something, they'll listen. I think this is important from a father's point of view.
