Getting involved in basketball couldn't be simpler. All you need is a couple of hoops, a ball and a bunch of mates - and off you go! Most local authorities in Wales have invested in facilities - so there should be a court not far from you. The Sports Council for Wales will be able to put you in touch with your local sports development officer who will be able to let you know about any organised events or activities. There's great news if you live in Rhondda Cynon Taf. The Rhondda Rebels, the reigning National Cup holders, run a successful development scheme aimed at getting more young people involved in the sport. The initiative involves 35 schools throughout the county with around 1,500 school children being coached by some of the Rebels' high profile players.
