Missy Lender - Rebel with a cause
Around the Academy:

The Rhondda Rebels in action
Missy Lender led the Rebels to a trophy treble

Missy Lender quit the basketball scene in the United States - and ended up skippering a team in the rugby-mad Rhondda Valley instead.

Sounds strange, but it kind of figured!

Because a career on court - no matter where in the world - has always been on the cards for the 6ft 2ins east coast girl.

Here, Missy tells the Academy why being the tallest girl in her year made basketball a natural choice.

And she reveals what it's like being captain of the treble-winning Rhondda Rebels.
