Laker: 10 qualities make up the ideal player

GB women's wheelchair basketball coach Ian Laker talks to the Sport Academy

The former coach of the women's British wheelchair team Ian Laker reveals the 10 things that make the ideal player.

I'm still heavily involved with the women's GB wheelchair team and scout around the whole of the country searching for the right players.

You'll see me at championships, league games and I also hold training sessions for 30 or so girls.

You usually have 12 in the GB international team and I want a mixture of qualities.

I need players with personality, players who can lead, knowledgeable experienced players.

And I will look to balance them with less fearful players who have not been around so long.

Players need to work together and complement each other. You need offensive and defensive players.

And for every superstar you need a solid player who can do a job and be happy with time on the bench.

But there's only one ball and five people. Check out what I look for in a player and see how you fare.

Click on the above for the 10 qualities. Plus there's something I call the X-factor.
