Around the Academy:

Jade Johnson is the current British number one
Jade Johnson shows you and Jade how it's done
Jade Johnson has risen from virtual obscurity to become GB's number one long jumper.

Watch Jade's masterclass

Silver medals at the European Championships and Commonwealth Games have shot her to fame.

To help with the Norwich Union 'Do the Right Thing' campaign - which brings role models closer to young athletes - Jade met up with her number one fan - Jade Surman.

Miss Surman's well on the way to emulating her hero - she's won the sports:hall competition - and the Academy caught up with both Jades.

Here are Jade Johnson's top tips:

  • Make sure you warm up properly - it's vital to make sure you perform to your best and lower the risk of getting injured

  • Increase your run-up speed as you approach the board - but remember to stay in control

  • Don't forget your arms! Keep them under control - whatever they do, your legs will follow

Get leaping everybody.
